Italian Election Produces Mafia Boss

The Italian government decided to arrest the boss of the mafia after election results came in today. If any news story should be criticised, it's this one. Why are they making this public if they have protected him for so many years. Why now? If the original government is still in power, is this their way of making the news? Is this some kind of wake-up call? Is this connected to the biker wars in Canada? Is it connected to 9-11? Is it connected to the rap wars in the USA? Are people getting a bit excited now that the USA has announced its intensions to obliterate Iran? Maybe spring fever is stronger this year after such incredible disasters last year. Maybe I know nothing.
